Igreja de Santa Cruz

I really enjoyed my visit to this church & monastery.Actually, I'd even go as far as saying it's my highlight of Coimbra.The lady selling the tickets €4 (monastery & cloister)/main church itself is free,was friendly and very helpful with information.It was a very tranquil visit through the rooms and cloister.If you look closely, very closely at the exhibit, you might even spot the skull Theotonius of Coimbra (c. 1082 - 1162) being the first prior of the Monastery of the Holy Cross in Coimbra, Portugal. He is celebrated as the reformer of religious life in Portugal, and is the first Portuguese saint.
