We started off late, with David who noted traffic was horrible but then said it always is... so why not start earlier David? Typically the tour guide talks for the majority of the tour, and solicits questions, not David. Five minutes before dropping us off at Pena Palace, he briefs us on purchasing tickets and when we should return for our next ‘tour.’ Having arrived late at the Palace, we rushed but missed our departure time by 5 minutes and were politely chastised. What little David did share was how awesome lunch would be, at his favorite restaurant in Cascais... which was closed... and is closed every Wednesday. David forgot... he went home and had lunch as he lives in Cascais. Fortunately he also recommended another restaurant which ‘is good, but not as good’ called Dukes. We hurried to finish our meal, only to find out the rally time was not 4:00 p.m., but 4:30. We heard 4:00 p.m., but when he did show up, he said 4:30... No apologies, WE misunderstood. The brochure states ‘sightseeing of Estoril’s Casino’ and sure enough, as we departed Cascais he pointed to the casino from the moving van and said it was the largest casino in Europe... David was a driver, not a tour guide. Didn’t learn much, and the day was a hurried blur. David was polite, pleasant but distracted... the tour was a disappointment.
