Arranging a taxi from the airport to our hotel in Cascais was the best decision we could have made, purely because we got to meet with our wonderful driver, Ana.In the 40(ish) minute drive, Ana gave us a boat load of information on Lisbon, Cascais and Portuguese culture, including some phenomenal recommendations for local eats.The first day of our trip was fairly turbulent due to a major fire on Sintra mountain, so big we could see smoke and fire from our hotel, and Ana kept in contact with us on WhatsApp to reassure us with local updates.Hope to return the favor when Ana comes to New York!
