Expats and Portuguese people beware - these people are not who you want to do business with. We did a walkthrough a day before closing and the place was a mess with holes in wall. They made it seem like it was no big deal and we over reacted. I never dealt with a realtor that didn’t know what the property looked like before a closing. Then the seller and realtor brought no keys to the closing. So we purchased the property and left without keys to even get in. The realtor admitted he forgot them and so I didn’t have to sit out there waiting for him drop it off I said leave it to neighbor downstairs. When I realized the homeowner hadn’t given my husband keys either I called back the realtor and they said if I didn’t come by 7 I would have to pick up the keys 5 days later. Who buys a place and waits 5 days for keys???? I ended up having to drive 30 minutes to go get the keys. They told me congratulations when I walked in and I said next time bring the keys to the closing! Idiots. Very unprofessional. Once we opened apartment we realized they took dishwasher and clothes washer also. They also Left items in fridge. This property was almost bank owned and we saved the seller by buying it cash. To make the deal we told them we didn’t want the furniture but never did they say those items weren’t included. They also claimed to charge 5% but the check we paid on behalf of seller said 9,200 euro which is more like 6.5%. They claimed it’s normal. What abuse on someone already struggling financially. Just overall horrible experience. Very unprofessional no sympathy for anyone or anything. See carina at KW aveiro if you need ilhavo area or Valério if you need Vagueira area.
