Visiting Portugal from America, this one of my favorite adventures on my trip. I found out about Casa Filatélica from one off the staff at the INCM Store in Coimbra, only about 20 minutes walking away from here. After getting to the store I saw the display on the first floor and thought that the store was closed. So I called the number and was greeted by someone who did not speak English. After 15 minutes of trying to communicate with this person I asked a stranger on the street to ask on my behalf the hours of the store.They took the phone and after talking led me up the actual storefront, which is up the stairs and to the right.The store itself is absolutely wonderful, with a good selection of Portuguese coins and worldwide stamps that the store owner herself purchased many years ago. She doesn't speak english but her son translated and my crude knowledge of Spanish was enough for us to communicate reliably. They were both extremely friendly and were very happy when I said I was going to work to add them to Google Maps and to the Numista registry.I was very satisfied and would highly recommend visiting them if you're in the area; It is exactly these little discoveries that the Numismatic community at large needs.
